Class Description: Double knitting creates a reversible, two-layer, double-thick fabric. You work both sides of the fabric at once, with stitches from each side of the fabric alternating on the needles. When working a double knit fabric, you will first work a stitch from the side of fabric facing you and then you will work a matching stitch from the opposite side of the fabric. Double knitting can come in very handy when you would like to create a thick fabric such as a cold-weather hat, a pot holder, a coat (from Knitting Terms).
Materials provided by instructor: None, but will have extra needles and scrap yarn if needed.
Materials students need to bring to class: Number 8 and up needles; skein of practice yarn or if you wish a skein of nice yarn to make a scarf.

Meet Riet: Originally from the Netherlands, Riet has lived in the United States for 50 years. She has been spinning almost 30 years. Riet often demonstrates at schools, spinning directly from her white English cross angora rabbit. Riet raises sheep and llamas at her farm in Cusick, WA.

Class Description: Do you want a new purpose for your wool roving? Let me introduce needle felting to you. This class will show you how to needle felt by creating a 3-4 inch teddy bear. You will receive all the materials you need including wool, felting needle, and foam pad. After this, the sky is the limit.

Meet Diane: Needle Felting instructor Diane Balbi has a 30 year background in clothing design and construction. She also has interest in beading and quilting.
